Roman Shields Weren't Built in a Day.

Y3C have been incredibly busy for the past few weeks learning all about the Romans. It's been a great topic so far. We've learned about Rome and where it is, how the people of Rome were governed, about the Roman invasion of Britain, Roman schools, Roman homes, and about the many gods the Romans prayed to. We've also been investigating non-fiction texts about the Romans and the children have been busy honing their research skills. All of this and we're not finished yet!

Since last week we have been looking at Roman soldiers and how they were excellent warriors. We've been busy designing and making our own Roman shields. Y3C have made their teachers very proud with their excellent teamwork and communication skills. Working together they decided on their final designs, pulling aspects of their individual designs together into a collective creation.

Here are a few pictures of how we have been learning. Come back next week and see how our Roman army gets on when we stage a battle against the Celts!
