Letters to Taiwan

Year 3 have gone global! Over the last few weeks, the year 3's have been learning all about letter writing.

In this age of email and digital communication the art of letter writing seems to have taken a bit of a back seat. So Y3C decided to go a bit 'retro' and explore what you need to remember when writing an actual letter.

We've learnt how to include our (school) address in the top right-hand corner, start our letters with a welcoming greeting, group similar ideas into paragraphs, include interesting details, and to finish with an appropriate closing sentence or paragraph (all useful skills which can be transferred to email writing).



We sent off our letters and eagerly waited for our Taiwanese colleagues to reply. Luckily, we didn't have to wait too long. Though email is certainly faster, there's a certain something special that you get when you open a sealed envelope.

We are currently working on our individual replies, relaying some local insight from the royal wedding, and hope to learn some more about Taiwan before the end of the year.
