The act of eating, especially in groups, is presented as an essential factor of cohesion in society, which has come to show throughout history through the habits of individuals. And it is inevitable that people meet for a meal. However, rather than the act of eating, what is really important and interesting is the fact of maintaining a social interaction between each of them, to strengthen their social connections transcending the family, interacting with others. So much so that different communities have made the act of eating into an instrument of social cohesion.
Even with everything, and unfortunately for us, today's society pushes us to live and eat very fast. Hence, fads, today, more accessible to the world where eat without having to maintain direct relationships with others. At present we are subjected to a pace of life, mostly tax, which has made us forget to take our time to enjoy food, work and even breathe.
That's why their performances Pietroiusti Cesare 'Workshop extreme slowness' in the Espai d'Art Contemporani de Castelló, we defend this situation. This has been done to the act of eating, since it implies a social significance. So the proposal by the Italian artist to eat in a group with a series of strangers, strengthens the feeling of belonging to a neighboring network. This relationship is established and developed between them so that each takes on different roles that come to externalize, and maintained consistently throughout the process of socialization that is created through social connections - set of actions that are key development of a society -.
Thus, during any of the workshops 'extreme slowness' we can see how a simple act innate human being becomes an instrument of society to promote social cohesion and the vindication of space-time. This creates a great framework for action in which individuals build, slowly, a joint action space. You can only get to build a common area if you steal time to the daily chores by individualization and internalization of space itself. Hence the advocates through 'domiciled discrete' by a slowdown in the daily process to reach taste and learn to enjoy the smallest pleasures that we provide.
